Christopher A. Derderian, M.D. is a board certified plastic surgeon specializing in rhinoplasty and cosmetic surgery of the face in Dallas, TX. He was an associate professor of plastic surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Children’s Health in Dallas, from 2011-2022. He continues to care for both children and adults in his private practice in Dallas.

In his adult practice, Dr. Derderian performs both cosmetic and reconstructive procedures of the face including rhinoplasty, revision rhinoplasty, septoplasty, adult cleft rhinoplasty, adult cleft lip revision and otoplasty. His pediatric plastic surgery practice focuses on cleft lip repair, cleft lip revision, otoplasty, constricted ear repair, scar revision and removal of moles and other skin lesions.   • Dr. Derderian earned both his B.A. in Biology and his medical degree at Boston University, where he completed a combined undergraduate and medical school curriculum. During medical school, Dr. Derderian dedicated two additional years to scientific research including a fellowship with the Sarnoff Cardiovascular Research Foundation. After medical school, Dr. Derderian completed a combined residency in general surgery and plastic surgery at the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at the New York University Medical Center. During his last year of residency he served as executive chief resident in plastic surgery. After completing his residency, he completed an addition year of specialty training with a one-year fellowship in Craniofacial Surgery at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania.

  • Dr. Derderian served as an Assistant and then Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center from 2011-2022. Serving as a teacher and mentor to students and residents has been an important focus for him for over ten years. His clinical research focused on three-dimensional imaging to assess outcomes from surgeries related to cranial vault remodeling, cleft rhinoplasty, rhinoplasty and ear surgery. Dr. Derderian has published numerous book chapters and journal articles to contribute to the evolution of plastic surgery (view recent publications). He has traveled both nationally and internationally to present his research.
